With over a decade of experience in the marching arts, Sean Smit is consistently seeking out new challenges and artistic directions from the best students and staff in the country.
Sean Smit graduated from Rancho Cucamonga High School where he quickly returned to teach the visual program while spending the summer touring with The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. From there, Sean expanded to be a part of influential programs such as Mission Viejo HS, Fountain Valley HS, Ayala BAC, Woodbridge HS and POW Percussion while also contributing to smaller ensembles throughout the state. In more recent years, he has experienced the East Coast and had the pleasure of working with Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School.
From time on design teams, leading ensemble rehearsals, and cleaning drill, Sean has developed a wide skillset for use in visual design and performance coaching.
After working with fantastic designers throughout his career, Sean received the opportunity to design for groups throughout California, Pennsylvania, Utah, Kansas, and Ohio while leveraging the wealth of knowledge gained from being on the visual staff of the Sacramento Mandarins, Pacific Crest, and Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Sean is currently the Visual Caption Head for GOLD Drum and Bugle Corps in San Diego, CA.
